Irvington Halloween Festival Schedule of Events
The Historic Irvington Halloween Festival is a week of events including a 5 mile run, a scholarship pageant, masquerade ball, musicians, contests, Halloween-themed movies, storytelling, ghost tours, live theater, bike rides, roller derby, a haunted puppet show and dozens of other events. The Festival culminates on Saturday with a street fair which includes over 170 vendors, live-music and a costume parade.
Saturday, Oct 24th
Pumpkin Carving Contest – Sponsored by Waterman’s Family Farm | 10am-2pm | Ellenberger Park Skating Rink| FREE
Carving artists of all ages gather in Ellenberger Park Skating Rink and create their best jack-o’- lanterns. All one-hundred participants receive free pumpkins ready for carving. Winning contestants in adult and K-12 categories receive prizes.
Contestants compete for scholarship money and cash prizes while presenting an evening of singing, dancing, and fashion. The program includes costume, business attire, and evening gown competitions, and contestants are quizzed in both onstage and offstage interviews. Miss Irvington is invited to compete in the following year’s Indiana State Festivals Association (ISFA) Scholarship Pageant.

Celebrate the beginning of the week-long festival at a masquerade ball. Costumed attendees (21 and over) enjoy a live band and beer, wine, and appetizers

Our Lady of Lourdes Spooky Organ Concert and Food Drive with Indianapolis Children’s Choir | 6pm | Our Lady of Lourdes | FREE | Bring non-perishable food items to donate to the OLL Food Pantry.
This is an annual event featuring an organ performance by Our Lady of Lourdes organist Larry Bonebright and a special performance by the Indianapolis Children’s Choir!
Monday, Oct 26th
Slightly Haunted Puppet Show | 6:30pm | The Irving Theater | FREE
Come see this (slightly) haunted children’s puppet show by Melchior Marionettes and Peewinkle’s Puppet Studio. The Show features beautiful hand-crafted and costumed marionettes performing in full view of the audience. The cast includes dancing ghosts and skeletons, a juggling scarecrow, and Esmerelda the witch, while Dracula welcomes visitors from a second story ghost house.

The event will include the sale of the top three poster contest winners and fabulous donated items from businesses in and around Irvington, as well as appetizers, live music and a cash bar. Tickets are also available at Black Sheep and Book Mamas in Irvington.

Kid’s Movie Night at the Library | 7pm | Irvington Branch Library | FREE
The Irvington Branch Library opens its doors for a family friendly movie option! . The movie is open to the first 50 children due to space constraints and fire code.

Come on out to the Irving Theater for a night of storytelling fun! Kids of all ages welcome.
Friday, Oct 30th
This is an annual costumed bicycle ride through Irvington. The ride will begin at the Irvington Branch Library and end at DuFours for food fit for a zombie.
Riders are encouraged to wear costumes! See link above for the route. Neighbors along the way, beware! Come cheer on your favorite zombie riders!
