Irvington Halloween Festival Schedule of Events
The Historic Irvington Halloween Festival is a week of events including a 5 mile run, a scholarship pageant, musicians, contests, Halloween-themed movies, storytelling, ghost tours, live theater, bike rides, roller derby, a haunted puppet show and dozens of other events. The Festival culminates on Saturday with a street fair which includes over 170 vendors, live-music and a costume parade.
Saturday, Oct 18th
Pumpkin Carving Contest | 10am-2pm | Ellenberger Park Skating Rink| FREE
Come out to the Ellenberger Park Skating Rink for a free pumpkin carving contest! Pumpkins and tools will be provided. Food trucks & prizes for K-12 and adult categories!
See who will be crowned the Irvington Halloween Festival Queen! Contestants will be judged on an original costume, interview, evening wear, and an onstage question. The winner will receive a $1,000 scholarship to her college of choice, with 1st and 2nd runner-ups and best costume winning a cash prize as well. The winner will also be eligible to compete next year in the State Festival Pageant.

Spooky Organ Concert with Indianapolis Children’s Choir | 6pm | Our Lady of Lourdes | FREE
This is an annual event featuring an organ performance by Our Lady of Lourdes organist Larry Bonebright and a special performance by the Indianapolis Children’s Choir!
Monday, Oct 20th
Slightly Haunted Puppet Show | 6:30pm | The Irving Theater | FREE
Come see this (slightly) haunted children’s puppet show by Melchior Marionettes and Peewinkle’s Puppet Studio. The Show features beautiful hand-crafted and costumed marionettes performing in full view of the audience. The cast includes dancing ghosts and skeletons, a juggling scarecrow, and Esmerelda the witch, while Dracula welcomes visitors from a second story ghost house.
The event will include the sale of the top three poster contest winners and fabulous donated items from businesses in and around Irvington, as well as appetizers, live music and a cash bar. Tickets are also available at Black Sheep and Book Mamas in Irvington.

Kid’s Movie Night at the Library – The Dark Crystal| 7pm | Irvington Branch Library | FREE
The Irvington Branch Library opens its doors for a family friendly movie option! This movie is suggested for 7 and up only. The movie is open to the first 50 children due to space constraints and fire code.

The Pride of Indy Concert Band will present their fall/halloween concert featuring the music from Science Fiction movies and more!

This is an annual costumed bicycle ride through Irvington brought to you by Indy Cycle Specialist. The ride will begin at the Irvington Branch Library. Riders are encouraged to wear costumes!
