Congratulations to to Emma Leising, our 2012 Miss Irvington Halloween Festival Scholarship Program Queen! She is joined by 2nd runner-up and costume contest winner Alissa Pierle and 1st runner-up Jesse Hle!
The 2011 Miss Irvington Queen, Katie Ann Null, was there to crown Emma before preparing to represent the Irvington Halloween festival at the 2012 Indiana State Festival Pageant in November.
Nine young ladies from Scecina, Cathedral, Warren Township, Perry Meridian, and Arsenal Technical high schools competed alongside girls from Indiana State University and Ivy Tech College for $1,850 in scholarship money.
Title sponsor, Snips in Historic Irvington, recruited five local and national leaders to judge the girls in five challenging categories, including an in-depth interview. The program itself consisted of competitions in Halloween costumes, festival spirit and evening gown.
About the Winner:
Emma Leising is a Junior at Cathedral High School. She maintains a 3.96 GPA, and has been on high honor role every semester. She runs varsity track and cross country and has performed in seven theatrical productions, while engaged in various clubs. She is a member of A Promise to Keep, French Club, Model UN, Habitat for Humanity, and Thespian Society. She enjoys reading, painting, running the mini-marathon and acting. She hopes to pursue a career in the arts.
